A pilgrimage to the Holy Land will be an experience you will never forget. Christians have been going on pilgrimages from the very beginning of our faith. The Holy Land holds importance as the place of Jesus' birth, life, death and resurrection.

Pilgrimages include visits to Bethlehem where we stop at The Church of the Nativity that commemorates the birth of Christ. We visit sites like the village of Cana, the Sea of Galilee, Mt. Tabor, and the River Jordan, jerusalem and Dead Sea.

ITINERARY

DAY 1 : Tel Aviv / Sea Of Galilee

Today: Arrival. Travel through customs and meet our local tour escort who will accompany you throughout your trip. Board your coach bus for the trip to your hotel for registration.

Evening: Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

DAY 2 : Mt. Tabor / Cana / Nazareth

Today: Visit Mount Tabor, scene of the Transfiguration. Cana, the site of Jesus' first miracle. Here couples may renew their wedding vows. The Basilica of the Annunciation, St. Joseph's Church, Mary's Well and the old market.

Evening: Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

DAY 3 : Sea Of Galilee / Capernaum / Tiberias

Today: We start at Capernaum where Jesus lived, and started his ministry. Mount of Beatitudes (the location of Sermon of the Mountain). Tabgha site of the miracle of multiplication. Boat trip on the Sea of Galilee.

Evening: Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

DAY 4 : Haifa / Mt. Carmel / Caesarea By The Sea - Jerusalem

Today: Go to Haifa and Mt. Carmel. Caesarea Marittima, to take a glimpse of the ancient remains of Herod's. After we travel to the Holy City of Jerusalem.

Evening: Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

DAY 5 : Bethlehem / Shepherd's Field / Church Of The Nativity / Ein Karem

Today: Visit Shepherd's Fields. Church of the Nativity that stands on the site where Jesus was born. Ein Karem, birthplace of St. John the Baptist. Church of the Visitation, where Mary visited her cousin, Elizabeth, and proclaimed the 'Magnificat'.

Evening: Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

DAY 6 : Jerusalem / Mt. Of Olives / Getsemane / Pater Noster/ Dorminion Church / St. Peter Gallicantu

Today: Visit Mt. of Olives. Pater Noster where Jesus taught the Lord's Prayer to his disciples. Garden of Gethsemane. Church of all Nations. Mount Zion, the highest point in ancient Jerusalem. St. Peter in Gallicantu. Where Peter denied Jesus thrice.

Evening: Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

DAY 7 : Jerusalem

Today: Go to the Via Dolorosa (Way of Sorrow) praying the Stations of the Cross. Church of the Holy Sepulcher. St. Anne's Church, the home of the Virgin Mary. The Wailing Wall, the most holy place for Jews. The rest of the day is open for visits to other Holy Sites, shopping or resting at your hotel.

Evening: Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

DAY 8 : Jordan Valley - Jericho - Qumran - Dead Sea

Today: Go to the Jordan River to renew our baptismal vows. The town of Jericho. Mt. of Temptation where Jesus fasted and was tempted by Satan. The excavations of Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were uncovered. Swim (or rather a float!) in the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea, renowned for its healing properties.

Evening: Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

DAY 9 : Tel Aviv to Airport

Today: Transfer to the airport to board our return flight home.

ITINERARY


DAY 1 : Tel Aviv / Sea of Galilee

Today: Arrive at Ben Gurion Airport. Travel through customs and meet our guide who will accompany you throughout your pilgrimage. Board your coach bus for the trip to your hotel in Tiberias. Upon arrival in Tiberias, you will check-in to your hotel for the evening. A light snack will be provided when you arrive.

Evening: Overnight accommodations will be in your hotel in Tiberias.

Day 2 : Mt. Tabor / Cana / Nazareth

Today: This morning, we travel to Mount Tabor, scene of the Transfiguration. After our visit, we drive to Cana, the village of Jesus' first miracle of changing water into wine. We celebrate Mass at the Chapel in Cana. Here couples may renew their wedding vows. This afternoon, you will visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, St. Joseph's Church, Mary's Well and the old market.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel in Tiberias.

DAY 3 : Sea of Galilee / Capernaum / Tiberias

Today: Traveling along the shores of the Sea of Galilee our tour starts at Capernaum where Jesus lived, and started his ministry. You will see the remnants of Peter's mother-in law house and the old synagogue where Jesus preached. You will then proceed to the Mount of Beatitudes (the location of Sermon of the Mount) and celebrate Mass. Drive onto Tabgha where the miracle of Multiplication of the Fish and Loaves took place. Close by, is the Church of Peter's Primacy the location of the Miraculous Fishing. Here is where Christ told his disciples to cast their net and catch the large quantity of fish. This is also where he proclaimed to Peter "Upon this Rock I will build my Church". Then you will take a boat trip on the Sea of Galilee as was done in the time of Jesus.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at your hotel in Bethlehem.

DAY 4 :Bethlehem / Ein Karen

Today: We start our visit in Bethlehem and visit the Shepherd's Fields where the angels announced to the shepherds the birth of the Christ Child. Then we visit the Church of the Nativity that stands upon the site where Jesus was born. Mass will be held in Bethlehem at St. Catherine of Alexandra or the Shepherds Field's Chapel. We take time to shop in Bethlehem. After lunch, we drive to the Village of Ein Karem, the birthplace of St. John the Baptist and to the Church of the Visitation where the Blessed Virgin Mary visited her cousin, Elizabeth, and proclaimed the 'Magnificat'.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at your hotel in Bethlehem.

DAY 5 : Jerusalem / Mt. of Olives / Getsemane / Pater Noster / Dominus Flevit / Dorminion Church / Church of St. Peter Gallicantu

Today: We begin our day with a visit to the Mt. of Olives. This includes a dramatic view of the. Old City from the Mount of Olives, revealing a city with 4,000 years of history. We visit the Pater Noster where Jesus taught the Lord's Prayer to his disciples. We walk the Palm Sunday route stopping at Dominus Flevit, where Jesus wept over Jerusalem. In the Garden of Gethsemane, we see The Rock of Agony where Jesus prayed his last prayer before his arrest. Mass will be celebrated at the Church of all Nations. This afternoon, we drive to the hill of Mount Zion, the highest point in ancient Jerusalem, it is dominated by the Church of the Dormition. Visit the Upper Room of the Last Supper and end our day at St. Peter in Gallicantu where Peter denied Him thrice.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at your hotel in Bethlehem.

DAY 6 : Jerusalem

Today: We retrace the last steps of Jesus, as we walk along the Via Dolorosa (Way of Sorrow), through the markets of the Old City praying the Stations of the Cross. We reflect on the greatness of his sacrifice. Finally, we arrive at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre to celebrate Mass. At St. Anne's Church, the home of the Virgin Mary and her parents Saints Joachim and Anne we stop for a short prayer. We pass the Ecce Home where Pilate proclaimed "Behold the man"; then on to the Wailing Wall, the most holy place for Jews. The rest of the day is open for visits to other Holy Sites, shopping or resting at your hotel.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at your hotel in Bethlehem.

DAY 7 : Valley / Jericho / Qumran / Dead Sea

Today: We start the day by remembering our baptism. Visit the Jordan River to renew our baptismal vows. Drive down the Jordan Valley and stop at the oasis town of Jericho. Visit the excavations of the oldest city in the world. We view the Mt. of Temptation where Jesus fasted and was tempted by Satan. We will visit the excavations of Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were uncovered. On the way back, there is time for a swim (or rather a float!) in the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea, renowned for its healing properties.

Evening: Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at your hotel in Bethlehem.

DAY 8 : Tel Aviv to  Airport

Today: This morning we will transfer to the airport to catch our return flight home.

11 DAYS PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOLY LAND & JORDAN

A pilgrimage to the Holy Land & Jordan will be an experience you will never forget. Christians have been going on pilgrimages from the very beginning of our faith. Early Christians visited the birth place Jesus and other sites documented in the Gospels. The Holy Land holds importance as the place of Jesus' birth, life, death and resurrection.

Also visit the Memorial of Moses upon Mount Nebo is very interesting. The most stunning examples of Byzantine mosaic floors in the whole of Jordan. The Roman city of Jerash, the Madaba mosaic map - the oldest known map of the Holy Land - as well as the Nabatean city of Petra, once described as 'The rose city half as old as time', are other highlights of the visit to Jordan.

DAY 8 : Bethlehem / Amman

Today: Go to Allenby Bridge, to enter Jordan. Drive Medaba in central Jordan. Mt. Nebo (2,680 ft. above sea level) also location of the Tomb of Moses. View a panorama of the Holy Land and the Jordan River Valley. Drive north to the modern capital city of Amman, Jordan.

Evening: Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

DAY 9 : Wadi Musa / Petra

Today: Drive to Wadi Musa. Continue to Petra carved and built structures, including the Monastery which was carved out of a sandstone rock face. We will enjoy lunch, and then return through the Siq to Wadi Musa for our drive back to Amman.

Evening: Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

DAY 10 : Jerash / Amman

Today: Drive to the city of Jerash, Known as the "Pompeii of the East" for its extraordinary state of preservation. The most well known monuments include the colonnaded street, the Temple of Zeus, the Forum and Hadrian's Arch. After lunch, we return to Amman.

Evening: Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

DAY 11 : Amman to Airport

Today: This morning we will transfer to the airport to board our return flight home.

WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE TOURING ISRAEL


PASSPORT & VISA INFORMATION

US citizens need a valid U.S. passport with at least six months validity beyond intended stay, to enter Israel. Make two photocopies of your passport. Leave one copy at home and carry the other separately from your original.

Israel: U.S. and Canadian Citizens do not need a Visa when entering Israel.

Non U. S. /Canadian Citizens are responsible to fulfill appropriate entry requirements of destination. Contact your Consulate office for requirements.


LANGUAGES SPOKEN

Hebrew, Arabic and English.


CURRENCY

U.S. dollars can be used in The Holy Land.

The currency in Israel is the Shekel. There are no restrictions on the import and export of Israeli or foreign currency. Credit cards can be used in Israel for larger purchases. ATMs in Israel are all connected to European and American banking systems. Please be advised that the ATM machines dispense money in SHEKELS - NOT US DOLLARS. Once again U.S. dollars are recommended for use for small purchases and tipping.

Please Note: We suggest you call your bank and/or credit card Company before you leave, to let them know you will be out of the country and using your ATM card or credit card.


VOLTAGE

Electricity in Israel is 220 volts 50 Hz and uses the European plug with two round pins. You will need to bring along the necessary converters and adapters to operate any 120 volt appliances such as hair dryers and electric razors as well as camera and cell phone chargers.


TIME ZONE

The time zone for Israel is seven hours ahead of EST and two hours ahead of GMT.


CLIMATE

The climate is temperate, and temperatures all year round are reasonable. The Holy Land has two main seasons: Winter (from November to March) is cold and rainy in most parts of the country; summer (from April to October) is hot and dry with little or no rainfall. The desert areas can be extremely hot in summer time. The best time to visit is March-June or October-November, although climate shouldn't be a major consideration in choosing a time to visit.
